You know, cel-shading always looks fun in theory and then I go and do it and I'm like ffffuuuuuuuuu this is tedious and unexciting.
The whole concept started after "Homefront" when Dick trolled Arty at school, and I was like, "D'aww Arty has friends in unexpected places!" And now I have this whole vision of Dick and Arty's future, and Weisman and Vietti are thanking gods right now that they don't have me on their writing staff.
But the as I was going about drawing Dick ended up with an umbrella, and I was like, "Dick, wtf you doing with an umbrella? Because I sure as hell am not gonna draw rain." and then the whole concept kind of evolved into something like this (but ya'll can make up your own stories):
Dick: Umbrella?
Artemis: Dick, it's not raining.
Dick: What?
Artemis: It's not raining.
Dick: Bruce says always be prepared.
Artemis: Who? But it's not raining.
Dick: Walk you home?
Barbara: )8<
You know, because Dick Grayson is a man (boy?) of the night and he likes to troll sunshine and happiness. Because he is still young and impressionable Bruce is rubbing off a bit too much.
I don't exactly romance-ship these kids, but the internet can go wild.
